When you decide to travel to another country for diagnosis or treatment, being informed about details related to the cost, proposed treatment, hospitalization period, before your arrival will make your decision a lot easier.

This process starts with the initial consultation with our specialists, who will evaluate your needs and determine if you will be eligible for treatment. You may be asked to send important information about your current state of health, what medications you may be taking, pertinent medical and surgical history, and any diagnostic testing that you may have already performed. All your personal health information will be protected under HIPPA laws, and your health information transmitted through secure files.

All of this information will then be transferred to the appropriate physician in Turkiye who will formulate an individual treatment plan.

At this stage the patient will be given an approximate quote for the costs of the planned procedure as well as expected recovery time and follow up needs. You will then be informed about the estimated treatment process that our physicians or doctors have suggested and about the approximate price.

What types of medical procedures do medical tourists usually seek abroad?
There are a whole host of different medical/surgical options for medical tourists. We typically focus on procedures that can be performed safely and effectively in a relatively short period of time. Common elective procedures include ophthalmic surgeries, hair transplantation, cosmetic surgery, hip and knee replacements, dental procedures. These are procedures that are usually not covered by insurance or may have a long waiting list time in their home country.
Are Turkish doctors and hospitals trustworthy?

We are very selective about our doctors and hospitals. All of our chosen doctors are internationally recognized specialists in their fields. They are all accredited, licensed physicians who are in daily practice and treat thousands of patients with successful results. The private clinics and hospitals that we offer for your treatment operate by world-class standards. Hygiene, medical best practices, and comfort are fundamental to our standards of excellence.

Why are medical procedures cheaper to perform in Turkiye? Are the doctors, equipment or procedures substandard?

Absolutely not, the Turkish medical standards are equal to or exceed highly prescribed international standards. The lower costs are generally due to favorable currency conversion rates and lower costs of operating in Turkey.

Why should I choose Turkiye over other medical tourism destinations?

Turkiye has some of the most highly qualified and experienced physicians in the world. With a cultural emphasis on education, most of these physicians have gone on to extensive sub-specialization in their respective fields, enabling them to become experts in their medical specialties.

Are the hospitals in Turkiye well equipped and up to international standards?
Turkiye has several private hospitals that are designed to provide world-class medical care. These hospitals utilize some of the best medical equipment that is available worldwide, including state of the art robotic and laser technology for minimally invasive procedures.

Turkiye has a large number of JCI (International Joint Commission) hospitals. These hospitals provide treatment centers following international standards equivalent to EU countries. Turkiye also boasts multiple hospitals that are affiliated with top institutions such as the Johns Hopkins Institute, Harvard Medical Center, etc.

Can I speak to the doctor before going on my trip?

Yes, your initial consultation will be with a US based licensed physician who will obtain your medical history and first determine if you would be a good candidate for surgery. The US based physician will then conference with respective surgeon in Turkiye to go over the details. You will then be given all the details of the surgery, cost, recovery, etc. Then upon your arrival in Turkiye you will meet with your surgeon prior to the procedure.

After arriving in Turkiye, how will I find my surgeon?
Medical Tourism Turkiye will be with you every step of the way! As soon as you arrive at the airport, you will be greeted by an english speaking driver who will pick you up and take you to your hotel. Our specialists will be in constant contact with you and will arrange all of your transportation to and from your clinic. In addition, you will also be given a pre-paid cellular phone during your stay, so that you can contact our staff at any time.
Can I travel as soon as my medical treatment is over?

Your physician in Turkiye will make an assessment of your recovery and make a decision as to when it may be possible for you to travel back home. You will have an approximate recovery and return time prior to leaving for your trip, but it may vary depending on your recovery process.

What are the cost savings compared to my country?
Cost savings in Turkiye are enormous. This is generally due to the exchange rate and lower operating costs in Turkiye. We have posted approximate costs of common medical procedures on our website. These are approximate costs, and do vary depending on individual circumstances. However cost savings compared to similar procedures done in the US or UK are usually 50- 70%.

Our costs are all inclusive and include hotels, transfers, consultations and any pre-op testing. Our price does not include airfare, but we would be happy to help you arrange air travel if necessary.

What are the steps of the process?
The first step in your treatment begins with filling out an inquiry form. You will then be contacted by Medical Tourism Turkiye staff who will collect your data and send you information about the procedure. After reviewing the information you receive, more detailed information can be sent to our staff about your medical history. This will then be reviewed by our US medical doctor whom you can speak to about the surgery. Everything is finalized after consultation, costs will be discussed, arrangements can be made and dates can be sent for your operation.

Great question! Turkiye recorded a total of 52 million tourists in 2019, ranking 6th in the world. There is so much you can do and see in Turkiye! Istanbul is an amazing touristic hotspot!. Istanbul has a number of major attractions derived from its historical status as capital of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. These include the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (the “Blue Mosque”), the Hagia Sophia, the Topkapı Palace, the Basilica Cistern, the Dolmabahçe Palace, the Galata Tower, the Grand Bazaar, the Spice Bazaar. Istanbul has also recently become one of the biggest shopping centers of the European region by hosting malls and shopping centers, such as Metrocity, Akmerkez and Cevahir Mall, which is the biggest mall in Europe and seventh largest shopping center in the world.
Is Turkiye Safe?
As a rule, Turkiye is safe for tourism. The country remains one of the most popular destinations around the globe. 40-55 million visitors come to it’s shores every year, with the vast majority experiencing no problems and enjoying their stays. Maintaining a safe environment for foreign tourists is a top priority for Turkiye and the majority of its population, as tourism is a major part of the country’s economy.
Can I do tours of Istanbul or lengthen my stay if I choose to do so? Can I bring my family?
Yes Absolutely! You can lengthen your stay as long as you would like! Our staff at Medical Tourism Turkiye would be happy to help you arrange longer accommodations, travel assistance, rental cars, and tours of Istanbul. These additional services can be arranged at an extra expense, however you will benefit from using our trusted network of tour operators to get you the best prices on tours and accommodations. You are welcomed to arrange your own travel plans as well. Families can enjoy Istanbul while you are doing your medical procedure and recovering
Does Medical Tourism Turkiye provide language interpreters?
Yes! All of our staff are english speaking. Most of our medical practitioners also speak English, however we will provide interpreters during all your medical visits so you can feel free to ask the surgeon or staff any questions while you are being cared for
How much does a visa cost for Turkiye?

Visas are multi-entry and are valid for two months. Every passport holder, including children, must obtain a permit.

What is the relationship between Medical Tourism Turkiye and the Turkish hospitals and doctors?
Medical Tourism Turkiye (MTT) is a referral and screening service based in the United States. MTT is not involved in the direct patient care and procedures. MTT facilitates the process where patients can find reputable hospitals and clinics in Turkiye for medical procedures. Final decisions on whether to pursue medical treatment or proceed with surgery are between the individual and their surgeon. Patients are also encouraged to consult with their primary care physicians prior to embarking on any medical procedures. High surgical risk individuals may be required to obtain cardiac clearance with their local cardiologist or doctor prior to arriving in Turkiye for any procedures.
